Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a ubiquitous molecule in the body, found in highest concentration in skin and synovial fluid. Large HA molecules are hard to absorb, so HyaMax® sodium hyaluronate is fermented to create a low molecular weight form of HA. This has a greater potential for absorption, as demonstrated in a pharmacokinetic study in animals, with HA appearing in joints, tissue, and skin, particularly cartilaginous joints. HA serves multiple roles, including binding to water, facilitating cell-to-cell communication, and promoting nutrient delivery and toxin removal.

This product also appears to help care for skin by facilitating the healthy replacement of keratinocytes. In regard to the joints, HA is thought to support proper lubrication and cushioning. Additionally, in vitro experiments suggest that HA can modulate prostaglandin production, potentially promoting joint health.*
