Kirkman® offers the single strain Saccharomyces Boulardii (S. boulardii), a special yeast with probiotic effectiveness.*

S. boulardii is a non-colonizing yeast strain, related to S. cervesiae, the yeast used for brewing. It is distinct from Candida species, such as C. albicans and tropicalas, which can induce a dysbiotic microorganism population in the GI and GU tracts.

S. boulardii is a unique probiotic that survives gastric acidity, is not adversely affected or inhibited by antibiotics and does not alter or adversely affect the normal flora in the bowel.* For this reason, “friendly” probiotic organisms (including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium) can be taken at the same time as S. boulardii.
