I exercise and eat a clean gluten free diet but I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and had been on plaquenil for three years but stopped because it quit working. Then I was in severe pain all day, and had to be on ibuprofen around the clock. My doc placed me on Mexotretholate (4 pills per week) and It suppessed my immune system too much (I kept getting sick). I found arnica about 10 years ago after knee replacement surgery, in gel form and later in this tablet form. It works fast and breaks down joint & fibromyalgia pain effectively. After surgery I applied the gel to the outside of the incision sites for quick relief that lasted while I waited for the pain meds to kick in. And today I use it otherwise for new arthritis concerns and know i can count on quick relief. The only complaint I have is really no complaint at all - it doesn't last long enough! For short-term relief, this product is great. I wish the effect lasted longer but am still grateful that it gives short-term relief. I intend to try the cream, too, which may have longer-lasting relief.
